New projects in Singapore by Fuji Electric

Fuji Electric Asia Pacific is celebrating some new projects in Singapore, where Fuji Electric inverters have been found in the most important and innovative projects of the city. Our FRENIC-HVAC inverter is the most used in these new facilities.

Among these ambitious projects, we can find the emblematic park Gardens by the Bay one of the most amazing tropical gardens of the world. The park was constructed due to the new Government's policies to make Singapore a "garden city" and whose initial objective is to improve the life quality through introducing greater vegetation and fauna. Now the gardens are considered a national icon.

The University of Technology and Design of Singapore (SUTD) was established in collaboration with MIT to promote knowledge and encourage leaders and innovators with technical bases to meet the needs of society. FRENIC-HVAC was chosen for the electrical installation of its buildings

Another of the large facilities where FRENIC-HVAC has been installed is the Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus, established in 2012 and dedicated to the aerospace, marine and electric power industry, aims to help Singapore become one of the world leaders in this field.

JCube is a shopping center located in Jurong East, Singapore. Its building houses the first Olympic size ice rink in all of Singapore and the first IMAX theater in the suburbs of the city. It has an iconic facade inspired by an ice cube designed to reflect natural light during the day and to shine with its own light at night. Among its electrical installations, there are Fuji Electric FRENIC-HVAC inverters.

Big Box Warehouse Retail Mall ("WRS") is the largest of the 4 buildings of this chain department store in Singapore. Located next to the busy Jurong East subway station, this gigantic construction covers 52,000 m2 area and includes the FRENIC-HVAC inverters in the electrical system.

Suntec City Office Towers houses a series of foreign embassies and consulates established in Singapore. The Spanish embassy is located on the 39th floor of Tower 1, and along with it, there are more embassies and economic and commercial offices. In 2013, Suntec City received a renewal after opening its doors for 16 years, for this extension FRENIC-HVAC inverters were included in the installation.

The new LucasFilm Singapore building designed by Aedas, also called the Sandcrawler, will house a theater with 100 seats. After its old building became small, Lucasfilm Singapore decided to build a new in early 2014 where Fuji Electric was chosen as the supplier of electric inverters by the project consultant. This new eight-story building is owned by Lucas Real Estate Singapore and headquarters of Lucasfilm Singapore, Walt Disney Company (Southeast Asia) and ESPN Asia Pacific.

BreadTalk iHQ was designed by award-winning local architect Tan Kay Ngee. Its architecture takes as reference the many layers of textures found in Danish pastry and also alludes to the dynamic and multifaceted BreadTalk group, with its diverse and innovative style brands for everyday life. Founded in 2000 as a bakery brand in Singapore, since then, it has expanded to more than 900 retail stores in 18 territories. Fuji Electric was evaluated as the preferred supplier by the project consultant for its FRENIC-HVAC inverter.

Jem is the newest word in suburban shopping. This regional shopping center, which is adjacent to Jurong East MRTE in western Singapore, is the third largest suburban shopping center in Singapore. Within its facilities, you can find our FRENIC-HVAC inverter.

The National Gallery Singapore opened in 2015 and its electric installation also has our FRENIC-HVAC inverter. In the building you can find more than 8,000 artworks from Singapore and the Southeast Asia, the largest collection of artworks in the área.
Mediapolis plays a vital role in the technology and media (ICM) ecosystem of Singapore. Created for the media sector, sciences and engineering, the center is rapidly expanding. It has a massive area of 190,000 m2 in One-Nort. Mediapolis provides a synergistic business environment where the best of the industry can thrive and grow. Designed by the award-winning Japanese architect Maki & Associates, the space has offices, residential spaces, ecological parks and entertainment venues. Founded in 1959, GEMS Education expanded to the Singapore market and opened its new school, GEMS World Academy (Singapore) in September 2017. At this international school there is no dominant nationality or ethnic group and the largest nationality it only represents 15% of the student population. Fuji Electric was evaluated as the preferred supplier by the project consultant for its FRENIC-HVAC inverter.

SMRT is a Singapore transport operator established in 1987 that operates buses, railways, taxis and other public and private transport services. The FRENIC-HVAC inverters were chosen in the extension of one of its new rail lines (Downtown Line 3).

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is an association between Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Imperial College London; the school will train a generation of doctors who will put patients at the center of exemplary medical care. The school aims to be a role model in medical education and innovation. In the electrical installation you can find the Fuji Electric FRENIC-HVAC inverter.

The Bedok Reservoir (part of PUB Singapure National Water Agency) is a reservoir in the eastern part of Singapore, north of Bedok New Town. The reservoir has an area of 880,000 m² and a capacity of 12.8 million m³. The installation of the reservoir began in 1983, with the construction of a deep pumping station and a perimeter road. The reservoir was completed in June 1985 and started operating later that year. FRENIC-HVAC was evaluated as the preferred electric inverter for the installation.

Yishun Community Hospital (Alexandra Health System (AHS)) is one of Singapore's largest community hospitals to provide intermediate care for recuperating patients who do not require the intensive services of an acute-care hospital. It opened and started receiving patients on December 28, 2015. Situated beside Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the two hospitals connected via a sky link bridge provide an integrated care experience for patients. Fuji Electric FRENIC-HVAC was chosen as the preferred inverter for this new hospital.

The Sengkang General and Community Hospital is one of the largest regional hospitals in Singapore. The 1000-bed hospital opened its doors on August 18, 2018 and will serve the growing population in the northeast, particularly Sengkang, Punggol, Hougang and Pasir Ris.  FRENIC-HVAC inverter was evaluated as the preferred supplier for the construction of the building.

A new community hospital in Outram which is scheduled to be completed by 2020, will add 550 beds to the health system in Singapore, facilitating the shortage problem that has the national health care system. For this extension Fuji Electric FRENIC-HVAC inverters were chosen for the electrical installation of the new building, these 550 extra beds in the Outram Community Hospital (OCH) will be destined for general rehabilitation and sub-acute patients.

BCA Building and Construction Authority Academy (BCA Academy) offers research programs for innovation in the construction industry and the research development in this field. Since 1984, the Academy has played an important role in guaranteeing the skills and experiences necessary for professionals to create a safe, high-quality, sustainable environment. FRENIC-HVAC inverters from Fuji Electric were chosen for the of the academy expansion.

Micron Technology is a global leader in the semiconductor industry. It is a multinational company based in Boise, Idaho, United States. In 2011, Micron and Intel joined forces in the field of semiconductors and opened new production plants in Singapore. FRENIC-HVAC was evaluated as the preferred supplier for these new plants.

JTC Space @ Tuas is our first project that covers both multinational companies and SMEs from various types of industries including oil and gas, precision engineering and manufacturing in general. In addition to the industrial space, this complex will house a shopping center, a residential complex with 1,300 beds and a heavy vehicles parking with several floors and 200 parking spaces. The project has 64,000 m2 and is located on Tuas Road, a five-minute walk from the future Gul Circle MRT station. Fuji Electric was evaluated as the preferred supplier for its FRENIC-HVAC inverter.
