Fuji Electric’s automotive power modules combine several breakthrough technologies to take power density to a new level.

The unique RC IGBT chips combine the IGBT and diode in one chip and offer very low thermal resistance. Within the module, lead frames are used to connect the chips, as they have a higher continuous current capability compared to bond wire connections. In combination with a newly developed, powerful, closed-loop water cooler, this results in very low thermal resistance and a very compact module.

The module achieves low loss and miniaturization by utilizing a 7th-generation RC-IGBT chip and direct liquid-cooled structure that equips the module with a cooling unit.
It also secures fast and accurate overheating protection and short-circuit protection through its built-in current sense IGBT and temperature sense diode.
